Mariia Coombes is a former professional ballroom dancer from Russia with over 7 years of active competitive experience. She was a finalist in more than 25 Russian DanceSport competitions, including the Grand Prix Dynamo WDSF 2015 in Moscow, Saint Petersburg Championship 2015, and Saint Petersburg Ball WDSF 2015. She also competed internationally at prestigious events such as the Finland Open (2014) and the German Open Championship (2015).

 

During her competitive career, Mariia regularly attended some of the most renowned DanceSport training camps, including Super Summer Dance Camp, The Dance Camp, and S&F Camp, where she studied under with many legendary figures in the ballroom dance world. She had the opportunity to learn from world-class coaches such as five-time U.S. National Champion Karina Smirnoff from Dancing with the Stars, five-time U.S. National Champion Slavik Kryklyvyy, 16-time Professional World Latin Dance Champion Gaynor Fairweather, as well as Victor Nikovsky, Peter Stokkebroe, Ruslan Aidaev, Anton Karpov, and many other internationally recognized ballroom coaches.

 

In addition to her competitive background, Mariia specializes in early childhood dance education. She teaches Pro/Am International Latin, Ballroom, Wedding, Social Dance and more! Offering classes and lessons to Adults, Children, Teens. Offering extra curriculum classes such as  Mommy/Daddy & Me, Creative Dance, and Pre-Ballet classes that introduce young children to movement, musicality, and coordination in a fun and supportive environment.

 

Now based in Naples, Florida, she is excited to share her experience, knowledge, and passion for ballroom dancing with students of all ages and levels.
