Alana Kish
Professional Dance Instructor
For Alana Kish, dance has never simply been about steps—it has always been about connection. Connection to music, to movement, and to the joy that comes from expressing something deeper than words.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Alana grew up in a deeply musical family. With both grandparents and her mother working as professional musicians, music was not just present in the home—it was woven into daily life. From an early age, rhythm and melody felt instinctive, and it quickly became clear that young Alana had a natural gift for translating music into movement.
Teachers recognized her talent as early as four years old. By five, she was already performing small dance shows for family gatherings, captivating audiences with an enthusiasm and musicality well beyond her years. It was during this time that Alana began describing dance in a way that still reflects her philosophy today—“becoming the music.”
Throughout her youth, Alana trained in a variety of dance styles including ballet and jazz, eventually winning her first dance competition at just twelve years old. As her skills developed, so did her curiosity about different styles of dance. That curiosity led her to Latin rhythms—salsa, bachata, and merengue—which opened the door to the dynamic world of ballroom dance. As a competitive dancer, Alana trained in International Latin and Smooth styles.
While competition helped sharpen her skills, teaching quickly became one of Alana’s greatest passions. Over the years she has worked with students of all ages, from elementary school programs and college workshops to adult and senior dance classes. She has also performed and taught at weddings, private celebrations, and community events, helping people discover that dance can be as joyful and social as it is artistic.
Now offering private lessons and group classes in Ballroom, Latin, American Smooth, Rhythm, Wedding, Country Two Step and more to Adults, Teens and Children!
Known for her warm, energetic presence, Alana creates a welcoming environment where students feel encouraged to step outside their comfort zone, build confidence, and experience the simple happiness that comes from moving to music.
Today, Alana is based in Naples, Florida, where she continues to teach and share her love of dance while also working in real estate across Southwest Florida.
