In this class, we teach adults contemporary dance, which is an interpretive style embracing innovation by blending techniques from various genres, including classical ballet, jazz, modern dance, and lyrical dance. This choreography-based class will introduce challenging elements from other styles through group routines. The class material combines the freedom of musical interpretation with a diversity of challenging elements to enhance your dancing and expand your horizons as a dancer. It's important to note that your instructor will focus more on floor work rather than leg work and pointe. However, this class doesn't restrict you to the rules governing traditional dance forms. Instead, it encourages a sense of improvisation and versatility characterized by freedom of movement and fluidity, allowing you as a dancer to explore the mind-body connection and evoke emotions in the audience. Students will be motivated to take risks, experiment with movement, and discover their own unique style. The class provides a supportive and collaborative environment where students can learn from each other and grow as dancers. After the class, your instructor will recommend additional classes to further improve your skills and continue your learning journey.
